Jackson, Mississippi – The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is pleased to announce upcoming training opportunities for Youth Mental Health First Aid, a professional training which was primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. DMH officials encourage schools and school districts throughout the state to participate – from teachers, School Resource Officers, school staff, parents, caregivers – to learn how to help an adolescent who is experiencing a mental health or substance use issue.
Each training will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:

The virtual trainings require two hours of study prior to the virtual training; the course is offered at no cost to anyone who is interested in participating. Space is limited, so registering early for the training is encouraged.
