South Pike School District would like to recognize Eva Gordon Upper Elementary School and South Pike Jr. High for their wonderful initiatives to honor veterans. Eva Gordon Upper Elementary School celebrated veterans on November 10th with "Donuts for Our Heroes," where veterans were invited to campus for a casual gathering over coffee and donuts. This was a beautiful gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service to our country. Similarly, South Pike Jr. High paid homage to Sgt. Raven Ashley and Sgt. Jayshonn Coleman, who are both alumnae and Air Force Reserve members. The students were allowed to learn about their experiences and present them with a small token of appreciation. We are grateful for these initiatives that honor veterans and recognize their contributions to our community.
